Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the KarmiloFox mobile application, the website at https://karmilofox.online, and related support services (collectively, the “Service”). If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

KarmiloFox is a visual vocabulary-learning service. For privacy questions, data requests, or support, contact:

2. Information We Handle

2.1 Learning Preferences and Progress

The app processes the information needed to personalize your learning experience, including:

• your selected native and target languages;
• selected topics and daily learning goals;
• words you choose, postpone, know, learn, or review;
• exercise results, review timing, streaks, and topic progress;
• sound, vibration, reminder, and other app preferences;
• locally recorded Premium access dates and status.

In the current release, this core learning information is stored in the app's local database on your device. KarmiloFox does not require a KarmiloFox login account and does not upload your learning history to a KarmiloFox account.

2.2 Support Information

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name, message, screenshots, attachments, and technical details relevant to your request. Please do not send payment card numbers, passwords, government identifiers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

2.3 Subscription and Purchase Information

Access to KarmiloFox learning content and features requires an active Premium entitlement. Premium may be obtained through a Monthly or Yearly auto-renewable subscription or through a Lifetime one-time, non-consumable purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by KarmiloFox. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Apple, Google, and our purchase-management provider RevenueCat may provide us with limited purchase and entitlement information, such as:

• an anonymous or app-specific customer identifier;
• product and store identifiers;
• purchase, renewal, expiration, cancellation, refund, or revocation dates;
• purchase type, subscription period, and entitlement status;
• trial or introductory-offer status and eligibility for subscriptions;
• country, currency, price, and transaction information supplied by the store.

We use this information to present available products, complete or restore purchases, verify Premium access, prevent fraud, and provide purchase support. Current price, purchase type, billing period and renewal terms for subscriptions, and any available subscription trial or offer are shown in the app and by the applicable app store before purchase. Lifetime has no trial, automatic renewal, or expiration. Buying Lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription; the subscription must be cancelled separately to prevent its next renewal.

2.4 Device, Diagnostics, and App Usage

The current app build includes Firebase services that may automatically process limited device, diagnostics, security, and usage information. Depending on the platform and configuration, this may include:

• app and device identifiers, including Firebase installation identifiers;
• device model, operating system, app version, language, and region;
• app launches, screens, interactions, and other automatically collected events;
• crash reports, stack traces, diagnostic logs, and performance-related data;
• IP address and basic network request information;
• App Check attestation or integrity signals used to protect cloud resources;
• Firebase Storage request and audio-download information.

We use this information to protect remote content, diagnose crashes, fix bugs, understand general feature usage, and improve reliability. We do not use this information to serve third-party advertising.

2.5 Downloaded Content and Offline Use

Selected starter vocabulary and audio are included with the app. After Premium activation, starter content can work offline. Additional audio may be downloaded from Firebase Cloud Storage and cached in the app's local storage. An internet connection is required for Premium activation, purchase verification, restoring purchases, and downloading additional content or audio.

2.6 Notifications

If you grant notification permission and enable reminders, KarmiloFox schedules learning and trial-ending reminders locally on your device. The current app does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send marketing push notifications. You can change notification permission in your device settings and reminder preferences in the app.

2.7 Website Analytics

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website use. It may process anonymous page views and custom events, such as whether an App Store or Google Play button was selected, together with information such as the page URL, referrer, approximate location, browser, operating system, device type, and event time.

Vercel Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies and is designed to avoid collecting information that identifies or follows a visitor across different websites. Our custom store-button events contain only the selected store and the page section where the click occurred.

3. How We Use Information

We use information described above to:

• provide and personalize the learning experience;
• save progress and schedule spaced repetition on your device;
• play bundled audio and download additional audio;
• activate, verify, restore, and support Premium subscriptions and Lifetime purchases;
• schedule reminders you choose to enable;
• secure cloud resources and prevent abuse;
• diagnose crashes, maintain performance, and improve the Service;
• respond to support and privacy requests;
• comply with app-store rules and legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

• Contract: to provide the Service and Premium access you request.
• Consent: for optional permissions or processing where consent is required, such as notifications.
• Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation: to comply with applicable law, consumer protection requirements, app-store rules, and valid legal requests.

5. Service Providers and Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information, rent personal information, or use third-party advertising networks. We share or permit processing only as needed for the Service, including with:

• Google Firebase: Firebase Core, Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check, and Cloud Storage for app operation, diagnostics, aggregate usage, resource protection, and audio delivery;
• RevenueCat: product offerings, anonymous customer identifiers, purchase and subscription status, entitlements, and restoration;
• Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution, billing, purchase and subscription management, cancellations, restorations, and refunds;
• Vercel: website hosting and privacy-focused website analytics;
• Email and support providers: only when you contact us.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or complete a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer subject to appropriate protections.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Core learning data and downloaded audio remain on your device until you reset app data, delete cached content where supported, uninstall the app, or the operating system removes the data. Device backups may retain app data according to your Apple or Google backup settings.

Purchase and subscription records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their policies and as needed for entitlement verification, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal obligations. Firebase and Vercel retain diagnostics, security, and analytics information according to their service settings and retention policies. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, keep necessary records, and meet legal obligations.

The current release does not create a KarmiloFox login account. To remove local learning data, use any available reset controls or uninstall the app. Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription and does not delete a Lifetime purchase from the purchasing store account. Subscription cancellation must be completed in Apple App Store or Google Play. For a privacy or deletion request concerning information held by us, email karmilofox.app@outlook.com.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including platform security controls and Firebase App Check, to protect the Service and information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.

To make a request, contact karmilofox.app@outlook.com. We may need information to verify your identity and locate relevant records. For information controlled by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Firebase, or Vercel, you may also need to use that provider's privacy controls.

9. Children's Privacy

KarmiloFox is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law, without appropriate parent or guardian authorization. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child provided personal information without required authorization, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

10. International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, applicable contractual, organizational, or legal safeguards are used for international transfers.

11. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to app stores or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by another appropriate method where required.
